When I use my laptop ( W10 surface book ) even with just the digital input on the screen, after a couple of activations it stops working and I have to shut down the program and restart to a response, until it locks again. It's making it hard to learn how this all work using your terms..
This is with an Arduino uno connected, so far everything else I have tried works. I have tried the same way on my desktop and it work fine.. It well maybe my laptop as I have had another program give me trouble for a totally different reason.

I just read your email. Hope you had a good holiday, when you get a change I would appreciate you putting together a sample for me. This problem has thrown me off.. And having to work doesn't help..

That sounds unpleasant...

Does the whole program lock up or just the node? Are you able to move around and edit other nodes?

Could you make a new project and paste the below node into it (open the spoiler tag)? Then open the definition and in the declaration section change the pin number to the correct pin for your button. (I hard coded the pin here so we can use the serial monitor while in disconnected mode when Embrio never gets a chance to send the correct pin to use to the Arduino).

Connect in Embrio and press your button and see if the locking problem still happens.

If it does, could you close the Embrio connection then open a serial monitor in the Arduino IDE and listen at 57600 baud?

You should be seeing a bunch of lines like "UPD:32:0.00" and then when you press the button, the line should read "UPD:32:1.00". About once a second you should be seeing an "INF:..." line. Is this what you are seeing? Does the UPD number keep changing to 1 when you press the button or does it stop after a few presses? Are you continually seeing data or does the data entirely stop?

Hi Tom, are you getting this issue too?

What do you see when you open a serial connection in Arduio after uploading a connection program?

I'm actually not sure if Scott is still seeing this issue, but I believe it was only happening on his laptop and not his desktop.
