Adding Node Definitions

Video Transcript

To create a new Node Definition, right click on any tab other than the Library tab and select New Node Definition, or right click on an existing definition and select Duplicate Definition to start with a copy. To edit the node definition, drag it onto a Node Screen Editor and open it for editing. Here you can add or remove inputs and outputs and write code to run the node. More information on writing nodes is available in another section.

Nodes added to the regular tool bars are available to all of your projects. Nodes added to the Project tab are saved with the project and not available to other projects. To see where the node definition is saved on disk, right click on a definition and select Open Folder Location. Definitions are saved in a folder called NodeDefinitions that is in the root of the project structure. Like everything in Embrio, node definitions are saved as XML text files.
